Orlando, Fla. — Some of the top professional wakeboarders in the world gathered at the Orlando Watersports Complex in Orlando, Fla. today to qualify into the 2011 Nautique Wake Games, presented by Rockstar Energy Drink.
Among the 20 pros that qualified today were a pair of rookie riders, debuting in their first pro contest. Steel Lafferty, 18, of Ft. I’ve looked up to him for so long and it’s just cool be competing with guys like him.”

Heading into their rookie season, high expectations were placed on Galotifore and Lafferty, as the duo finished in first and third place, respectively, on the 2010 Jr. Pro Wakeboard Tour.

“It’s usually a difficult transition going from amateur to pro, especially during your rookie season,” said Chief Judge Chris Bischoff. “But these guys killed it today and we’ll just have to see what happens in the contest over the next few days.”

The Nautique Wake Games, presented by Rockstar Energy Drink will continue through Sunday, May 1.
Wakeboarders Worldwide Head to Orlando for 2011 Nautique Wake Games

Orlando, Fla. — Hailing from Italy, Russia, Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands and a half-dozen more countries from throughout the globe, the top professional and amateur wakeboarders and wakeskaters on the planet will converge in Orlando, Fla., on April 28-May 1 for the 2011 Nautique Wake Games, presented by Rockstar Energy Drink. The four-day event, held at the Orlando Watersports Complex, is the largest teamed wakeboard contest in the world, with more than 200 riders expected to compete at the sixth annual Games.

The Nautique Wake Games attracts such large and diverse group of competitors due to the event’s uniqueness, as it’s is the only wakeboarding contest where professional and amateur riders compete together in teams to affect an overall outcome.

“Wake Games is pretty rad because it’s not just you competing against everyone. You’re on a team with riders of all the different ages and skill levels, working together as a group to win,” said Nautique team pro wakeboarder JD Webb. “It’s so different from every other contest out there and that’s why so many riders travel long distances to compete in it.”

The first two days of action at the Nautique Wake Games feature qualifying rounds, where only 90 eligible riders will be invited to join 10 preselected team captains for the live draft, held Friday evening, April 29, on site at the Orlando Watersports Complex.

During the draft, the 10 team captains will each select nine additional riders from the pool of 90 to field their 10-man roster with a mix of pro and amateur riders. Riders will compete in different divisions, separated by age and skill level, while still contributing points toward a team score based on their individual placement in that division. All 21 divisions will crown an individual winner, and the team with the highest total score will take home the team title.

Teams will begin accumulating points on Saturday, April 30, and continue through Sunday, May 1, when a winning team will be crowned.

Last year, Nautique team pro wakeboarder Jimmy LaRiche captained the winning team to capture the 2010 team title.

The Nautique Wake Games, presented by Rockstar Energy Drink will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on all four event days. Tickets are available at the gate: $13 (adult); $5 (ages 6-12); free (ages 5 and under); or $7 (adult) if purchased online.

In addition to all the action on the water, on land the Nautique Wake Games features great food and music, athlete autograph signings, chances to win freebies, and shopping at the most cutting-edge stores offering water-sports equipment including boats, wakeboards, wakeskates, sunglasses and the latest in wakeboarding and surfing fashions.

For information on the Nautique Wake Games, presented by Rockstar Energy Drink, visit www.kingofwake.com.

The Nautique Wake Games, presented by Rockstar Energy Drink is organized by World Sports & Marketing of Orlando, Fla., and has the support of the following sponsors: Correct Craft, Rockstar Energy Drink, Overton’s, Peavey, Mona Vie, Fox, Hyperlite, CWB, Ronix, Liquid Force, Byerly, Oakley, PCM Marine Engines and TransWorld WAKEBOARDING magazine.

About Nautique
The Nautique by Correct Craft is the exclusive tow boat of the Wake Games.
J.D. Power Two Years in a Row

Pleasurecraft Engine Group ranks highest in customer satisfaction for EFI inboard engines according to the 2007 J.D. Power and Associates Marine Engine Competitive Information StudySM (MECIS).

The study weighted seven engine factors, including the ability to accelerate, ease of start, reliability, smoothness, quietness, lack of fumes and fuel economy PCM ranks highest in every factor. PCM also has, by a wide margin, the highest quality among the inboards in the study. This is the second consecutive year PCM has ranked highest in customer satisfaction and the third time in four years PCM has received the award.

We'd like to thank our employees, our suppliers and our fine network of Premier Dealers for helping us achieve this important accomplishment, says Pleasurecraft President Chuck Thurman. Our employees produce the best marine engine possible, our suppliers deliver the highest quality components, and our Premier Dealers provide outstanding service. Thanks in part to these business partners, Pleasurecraft again ranks highest in customer satisfaction in the J.D. Power and Associates study.

PCM receives the highest score on the Engine Performance Index (EPI), which is a statistical index based on answers new engine owners report on a variety of performance and reliability questions. Again, PCM ranks highest in all seven categories. The study shows that having a problem with a new engine has a negative impact on customer satisfaction. PCM tops the industry when it comes to engine quality as PCM owners reported less than a third as many problems as the industry average, regardless of the type of engine.

When the owners were asked if they would repurchase the same brand of engine and recommend the brand to others, Pleasurecraft scores higher than the other propulsion systems studied. Customer advocacy is important to boat builders because a highly regarded engine manufacturer will tend to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty to a boat brand.
